At the Civil Service forum, held on Monday, November 1, approximately 40 of the College's staff gathered for a luncheon and to exchange ideas. Staff discussed building conditions, the current fiscal situation, and the most recent news on hiring and summer school with Dean Olson. On Tuesday, November 2, administrative professionals gathered and discussed ways to increase external funding, AP involvement in teaching, the College's strategic planning process, technology issues, and the Underrepresentative Task Force Implementation Committee. At the student forum held on Thursday, November 4, student leaders and Dean Olson discussed ways that the College can be more responsive to student needs.
Claire Lamonica, Assistant Director of the English Writing Program, said that the administrative-professional forum allowed her to "put a lot of faces to names." Sally Parry, Academic Advisor in the Deparment of English, said the forums are an excellent way to facilitate interaction with the Dean's Office in an informal setting.
