Emeritus English Professor Publishes Poems
Bill Morgan
Bill Morgan, Emeritus Professor of English, will present a poetry reading from his newly published chapbook of Illinois landscape poems, Sky With Six Geese, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28. Cover art for the new book is by Harold Gregor, ISU Emeritus Professor of Art. The reading, which is sponsored by the English department, WGLT radio, and Spoon River Poetry Review, will take place in the University Galleries in the Center for the Visual Arts and is free and open to the public. Morgan calls his book “intensely local” and says that “Bloomington-Normal and the Central Illinois countryside have the starring roles in these poems.”

Morgan, who is perhaps best known in the local community as one of the hosts of Poetry Radio on WGLT, has had his poems published widely. He has presented poetry readings and workshops in the local area, the Normal Public Library, and
McLean County Arts Center. At the April 28 poetry reading, Morgan will read poems from his new book as well as some of his more recent work.

Copies of Sky With Six Geese may be purchased at the reading and are also available beforehand at Babbitt’s Books in downtown Normal. They may also be ordered from the publisher by phone at (614) 986-1881 or by e-mail at info@puddinghouse.com.
