Dr. Ann Beck
Dr. Ann Beck
Ann R. Beck, Professor of Speech Pathology, was recently appointed Assistant to the Dean in the College of Arts and Sciences. Beck’s duties in this new half-time position include assisting Associate Dean Sally Parry in the administration of the general education program, assisting Associate Dean Sam Catanzaro on facilities and research issues, and assisting Dean Olson on special projects. “Dr. Beck’s solid research and teaching background along with her administrative experience as director of the Eckelman-Taylor Speech and Hearing Clinic will serve her well in this new position,” said Dean Olson. “I would like to thank Provost Presley for supporting this position in light of the College’s increased administrative responsibilities in the last few years.”

Dr. Beck has been at Illinois State since 1993. She received her B.S. (‘73) and M.S. (‘75) degrees from Southern Illinois University, and her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in 1981. She holds an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence, an Illinois State License in Speech-Language Pathology, and an Illinois State Type 10 Certificate for Speech and Language Impaired. In 1996, she won the University’s Teaching Initiative Award, and in 1993 Beck was promoted to full professor.
