IZA conducts economic analyses of national and international labor issues, generates high-quality academic articles, and advises policymakers on current issues. IZA’s network of Research Fellows includes internationally-renowned labor economists from the top universities in Europe and the U.S., among others. As a fellow, Dr. Billger will engage in international collaboration, participate in seminars, research grants, and IZA’s Paper and Reprint series.
Billger earned her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois. Her research interests include labor economics, economics of education, and applied econometrics. She has presented her research on single-sex education and on incentive pay for teachers and administrators to the American Education Finance Association, Society of Labor Economists, and the Eastern Economics Association. Dr. Billger has published articles in Industrial Relations, Developments in School Finance, and Applied Economics Letters. After conducting research at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin, German, and teaching at Union College, Billger joined the faculty at ISU in 2002.
