“This award will also help to send an important message about the value we place on teaching and student learning in the College.”
The Dean’s Award for Teaching is among the highest honors bestowed upon a faculty member by the College. It is a peer-determined award that recognizes and rewards the faculty member with the most extraordinary record of teaching in the preceding three calendar years. “I hope this award sends a strong message that the College of Arts and Sciences is deeply committed to good teaching as well as to strong research,” said Dean Olson.
Each department or school within the College may forward the application for one nominee per category in February of each year to the College Faculty Status Committee (CFSC). The Dean will make the final selection from a list of finalists forwarded by the CFSC. This year’s award recipient will be announced at the College’s Spring Faculty Meeting to be held on Thursday, April 20, 2006.
Guidelines and applications for this award will be posted on the College's website after going through the College's review process.
