Faculty, graduate students, and staff have additional support for their research projects on campus: Illinois State University’s Statistical Consulting Center (SCC)—a service unit that assists researchers with all phases of projects including proposal preparation, research design, data input, data analysis, and interpretation. The SCC was formed in 2003 as the result of a grass roots effort by University faculty with the goal of working together in an interdisciplinary fashion in order to offer greater statistical support to the University research culture by providing a forum in which to share statistical expertise, software, and reference materials.

"TheStatistical Consulting Center is a resource for researchers in many disciplines, and I’d encourage anyone to seek their service at any stage of a research project, especially at the design phase,” said Associate Dean Sam Catanzaro. “My own work has benefited from seeking their consultation, and I’m proud that College faculty members have been so active in this program.”

Several College faculty members participate in the SCC as faculty colleagues. Faculty colleagues are appointed as University Statistical Fellows and agree to work individually with faculty within their own areas of expertise for twenty-five total hours during the course of a calendar year. College faculty currently working for SCC include Ken Berk, Professor Emeritus of Mathematics, Fuxia Cheng, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Jinadasa Gamage, Professor of Mathematics, Mathew Hesson-McInnis, Associate Professor of Psychology, Dawn McBride, Associate Professor of Psychology, and Robert Wazienski, Instructional Assistant Professor, Sociology and Anthropology.
