On Saturday, March 25, WGLT, the College’s radio station, is bringing a Roomful of Blues to town—a band known for their eclectic mix of jump blues, R&B, swing, and soul. The group’s 39-year history is laced with many accomplishments, which include four W.C. Handy Blues Awards and five Grammy nominations. Roomful of Blues has a reputation that spans the globe and penetrates deep into the blues world. “Roomful of Blues gives a live performance that’s incredible,” said WGLT Music Director Jon Norton. “Their lineup has changed a lot over the years, leaving a list that reads likes a blues Who’s Who. Duke Robillard started the band over 30 years ago, and guys like Ronnie Earl, Lou Ann Barton, and Greg Piccolo have all been part of the group. You’ve got to see them!”

All proceeds from the concert will benefit the GLT Equipment Fund. The concert is at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, at the New Lafayette Club in Bloomington. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Advance tickets for the concert are on sale for $15 and can be purchases through WGLT online at www.wglt.org or by calling (309) 438-8910. Tickets are also available at the New Lafayette Club in Bloomington.

WGLT is the NPR/PRI affiliate public radio station licensed to Illinois State University broadcasting at 89.1 FM in central Illinois and in Peoria at 103.5 FM.
