Dean Olson announced that the new, innovative model of funding summer school “appears to be working quite well” and has experienced impressive success. After concentrated efforts to ensure that the College experiences the most “robust” summer in history, 3,388 students are currently enrolled in College of Arts and Sciences courses, and at least 180 courses will be offered, up from 2,592 students and 120 classes last year.
Following the Dean’s Address, the Dean’s Awards for Outstanding Civil Service Staff Member, Outstanding Administrative Professional, Outstanding Teaching, and Outstanding Scholarly Achievement were announced, as was a new Program of Excellence. See this issue for full articles on these awards.
