Members of COMM will travel to San Antonio, Texas next month to receive the award, which will be presented during the NCA convention. The NCA, the oldest and largest national organization serving the academic discipline of communication, is a non-profit organization of researchers, educators, students, and practitioners whose academic interests span all forms of human communication. "As I visit with groups on and off campus, including prospective students and their parents, I often remind them that we are one of the top undergraduate programs in the country. This national award provides another example of how we substantiate our claims with fact. This is the fourth national award the School of Communication has received recently," said Dr. Larry Long, Executive Director of the School of Communication. "In addition to COMM receiving the national club of the year honor this year, Lambda Pi Eta, our national honor society, received the national chapter of the year award, the Forensics Union won the national championship, and WZND won the national collegiate advisor of the year award. Our students, staff, and faculty are the best. Because of our excellence, it’s understandable that our chief competitors for the best incoming freshmen are primarily Big 10 and Big 12 schools."
