Hammond recruited ISU Theatre students Matt Kerrigan and Elaine Small to star in the video as the money-hungry filmmaker and his worried girlfriend. He filmed the project over three days, edited for two, and submitted the video for the November 16th deadline. He publicized the video to friends, family, and classmates to encourage a good voter turnout. “Let’s hope the video is prophetic,” said Hammond. “I don’t think I’ll let the money go to my head.” Hammond says he decided to enter the competition after noting the success of another group on campus. Several Theatre and Student Television Workshop students won Challenge 6, “Public Service Announcement,” with their video, “Recycle.”
NBC won’t divulge when “It’s Your Show” will hit airwaves, but when it does videos will be eligible to win $100,000. Hammond’s video may be showcased on national television and continue to compete for the grand prize. To view his video and others, visit www.iystv.com .
