Four history professors—Ron Gifford, Monica Noraian, Dan Stump, and Fred Walk—successfully competed in the Redbird Challenge Adventure Race on April 19 and won first place for best team costume. “We had a great day and even took home a first place ribbon for best costume,” said Noraian. “We were all historic world leaders represented by our different hats." The event consisted of a 16-mile bike ride, three-mile run and two- mile canoe trip. “What an amazing experience and feeling of accomplishment for “Team History” to have competed and even completed this challenging course,” said Noraian. The Redbird Challenge was sponsored by Recreation Services and hosted by the Outdoor Adventure Program and McLean County Parks and Recreation.
