Dr. Ilan Pappe, the Chair of the Department of History from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom and the co-director for the Exeter Center for Ethno-Political Studies, will deliver a lecture titled  “Palestine: The Historical Lessons for Our Time,” on Tuesday, November 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Schroeder Hall, Room 138. His publications include The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine (2006), A History of Modern Palestine: One Land, Two Peoples (2003), and Middle Eastern Politics and Ideas: A History from Within (1998).

Pappe was the academic head and founder of the Institute for Peace studies in Givat Haviva Israel from 1992 to 2000 and the Chair of the Emil Touma Institute for Palestinian Studies in Haifa from 2000 to 2008.

The Robert G. Bone Distinguished Lecturer Series was established by the late Illinois State President Robert G. Bone. Shared by the Departments of History, Politics & Government, and Sociology & Anthropology, it enables the department to bring distinguished scholars to ISU to deliver a series of public lectures and to meet with faculty and students.
