POL Senior Crowned Homecoming King
Ryan Hall

Ryan Hall, a senior majoring in Political Science, was crowned Illinois State University Homecoming King on Friday, October 16. “I applied for the homecoming court because I think the court represents a wide variety of different leaders, all of whom are 100% committed to the university and community,” said Hall. “I have dedicated a lot of time to the university and I had to overcome many obstacles to get to this point. It was an honor to be named the Homecoming King, but more important to me was being part of such an amazing homecoming court that had so many leaders who I have personally learned from. Illinois State is full of passionate servants and leaders and the court was just a spotlight on a small fraction of the students who are committed to leaving a footprint at ISU and the greater community.”

Hall is involved in a number of organizations at Illinois State, including the Student Government Association, Campus Involvement Ambassadors, University Program Board, and as a spring break trip leader for “Students Today, Leaders Forever”. He is also currently an intern as the National Student Mobilization Coordinator for World Vision ACT:S.

After graduating, Hall says would like to get involved in advocacy work. “I went to Zambia, Africa in 2007, and I am extremely passionate about advocating on behalf of people who don't have a voice and are affected by poverty, hunger, and AIDS,” says Hall. “I just want to make sure I am in a place where I can make a positive difference in people's lives. I also enjoy political campaign work and may do something with that in the future.”
